Jost Zetzsche

About the Author

Jost Zetzsche is the husband of Kristen Zetzsche, associate pastor at the Reedsport Church of God, and the father of Anna, Lara, and Hannes, their three adult children who are (unfortunately) living and working in three different time zones. Jost grew up in Germany, spent significant time in China (where he decided to embrace the Christian faith 30 years ago), and received his Ph.D. in Chinese Studies in 1996 with a dissertation on the history of Chinese Bible translation. Since 1999, Jost has worked as an English-into-German translator via International Writers' Group, LLC, a company that he co-founded on the Oregon coast. He has also published several books on language and translation and has been contracting with United Bible Societies to help create and curate Translation Insights and Perspectives. He has worked on his latest publication, Encountering Bare-Bones Christianity, for the last few years to help himself and others explain in easy-to-understand, everyday language that Christianity holds unique possibilities and advantages.
